Last week’s Scenes From Week Two of MLB Spring Training 2012 [52 Photos] marked the first week the full squad practice at camp where players worked on fundamentals, caught up with their co-workers, spoke to the media, signed autographs and shot a surprising amount of video so it can be ready in time for opening day in early April. Now as the initial training phase winds down and full games start it is all business. Teams are in a race to be prepared for opening day and players are working harder than ever to compete for a starting position. For me Hoboken’s annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities mark the beginning of spring in New York City. Hoboken’s unofficial boozefest “Lepre-con” took place on Saturday and like clock work the warm weather followed. Yeah, we had a mild winter but temperatures over the next few days are going to be nearly 70 degrees. This weekend the clocks also spring forward an hour so when you leave work it’ll still be bright outside. Both major wins for fans of outdoor drinking. Since spring is officially here in New York City it’s time to bust out of your sell, throw on some shorts & a t-shirt and treat yourself to a much deserved cocktail. Don’t even think about slamming a vodka soda, retire it with your winter clothing and move onto something with flavor.
