Kumi Yamashita is known for her astoundingly clever artworks which play with creating figures out of shadows… Her new venture features nothing but one piece of string and a billion borderline insanely placed nails. The size of each geometric shape gives a sense of depth and shadowing, which make these portraits possible.
The images themselves might make you think their mammoth in size, but are actually only 30 by 40 centimeters, which is mind blowing considering the amount of detail and keeping its perception of realism.
