• Final Details About Mumford & Sons Concert At The Hoboken Pier

  A little more than 24 hours until Mumford & Sons rock the Hoboken waterfront. We stopped by Pier A and Wicked Wolf this morning to go over final details. Here is what we found out… Getting to Wicked Wolf: Sintra Drive is going to be shutdown to traffic. If you’re arriving after 5 pm the police said you’d be better off walking up River Street then making a right on 2nd Street instead of trying to walk through the 15,000+ descending on the Pier. Obviously the earlier you arrive the better. If there is a line at Wicked Wolf when you arrive just wait it out. They are going to have a one out-one in policy when the capacity reaches 350 but it’ll go quickly as people head over to the Pier early to catch the opening acts. Well, the story is happening again, this time with a 49-year-old man from the Bronx named James Percell.   With the Olympics in full swing Boston got an incredible hologram light show just after the opening ceremonies on Friday night featuring Team USA Olympic athletes Tyson Gay and Ryan Lochte. On July 27, Gillette projected stunning, 60 foot holograms of the USA stars over Boston Harbor and cut together this highlight video set to M83′s “Steve McQueen.”

This week the daredevil made a test skydive from 18 miles up in preparation for his upcoming jump from 120,000 feet (22 miles) in which he hopes to reach speeds of 690 MPH and be the first person the break the sound barrier.   During our Windows Phone Baseball Bucket List stop in Seattle we took an art tour of Safeco Field. As we looked at one of the works by Gu Xiong called “The Crowd” we noticed one of the faces in the 24-foot long mural was that of Hollywood icon Nick Cage! It is a nice little Easter Egg that everyone can enjoy when you are in town watching the Ichiro-less Mariners.

  On Wednesday Microsoft and Maxim co-hosted a Back To School event on the roof top of Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel in New York City. We got to demo the new Windows 8 exclusive app Cocktail Flow, shot a sweet video with the Bleacher Report guys and some photobombing fun with Maxim’s Maximum Exposure host April Rose. Once the drinks stopped flowing at 10 pm we walked across the street to Tavern 29 for an impromptu after-party with Colin, April, Jessica, Brookelyn and the rest of the Maxim crew. Tavern 29 had a drink on the menu called “The Roosevelt” which was absolutely atrocious so we took it upon ourselves to reinvent the drink, see the recipe below. After a delicious round of 14 Roosevelts for the crew we called it a night. Since I was the Mayor of Blackoutville by 8:30 I don’t remember too much of what happened but good thing I shot a bunch of photos using the HTC Titan II!
