Unfortunately the end of summer is almost upon us. Seems like only yesterday we were knocking our glasses of scotch together in honor for the greatest summer in the history of hot weather in which we were about to embark on. And for some of us, we’ve made the best of it with adventure and travel or maybe just venturing to the shore every weekend, hanging with familiar faces. But summer isn’t over just yet, we still have a couple of weekends to go, especially the big one. Labor Day Weekend, where magic happens and dreams come true. We’ve done all the work for you, providing you with everything you need for the best weekend of the summer. Most of the garb you’ll be able to get great summer deals, ranging from 25-50% off. Go ahead let your hair down (if you’re a pro boarder or in a band. If not, cut it) relax, pop open a couple of Bud heavies and soak in the last weekend of your youth (until you convince yourself how young you are on MDW ’13) You also have our permission to stop doing P90X now.

The Weekend Bag

Chances are your Labor Day plans will include sleeping out.  You’ll need a bag that fits everything without taking up a lot of space.  Herschel Supply’s Novel Duffle has all the standard features you’d want in a travel accessory plus a few bells and whistles.  The best of which is its separate shoe compartment which can house a pair of kicks in case you want to switch out of the flip-flops.  Jack Spade’s Wing Duffle is one that will look great to close out the summer but will last you for years.   The brushed nickel hardware, cotton lining and leather detailing make for a fashionable, yet sturdy option for carrying your gear.

Travel Bag

If you’re going the extra mile to make sure you carry your clothes in style, be sure to do the same with your toiletries.  Nothing would look worse than pulling your toothbrush out of a zip-lock bag your duffle.  Jack Spade makes a matching carryall that has the same strong structure while offering multiple compartments for your different needs.  For about the same dimensions, you can opt for Thule’s Crossover travel kit.  It’s nylon design is perfect for the inevitable water spilling in the bathroom.

Bathing Suits

The Katin Kapers Boardshort is a great look for any pool or beach outing.  This bathing suit is a perfect display of design without being too flashy.  The pocket and denim color make it versatile enough for rolling off the beach and right to a bar without looking under-dressed.  Billabong’s Striker shorts have an athletic look with the materials to match.  The weave textured fabric is lightweight and quick-drying which gives it longevity as you go from pool to poolside.

The Pool Party

A pool party offers one last time to live up the summer.  The Goodlife summer tank top is perfect for relaxing on a lounge chair.  Once you’re ready to jump in, kick off the Rainbows flip flops and enjoy the pool in the Ryde Fathom Boardshort.  These slightly shorter length shorts are great for moving around the pool but you’ll more likely appreciate the comfort as you relax in the water with a drink. What would your pool garb be without some summer shades, the Raen Optics Underwood’s are classic with a bold and affordable, so you wont be pissed when you lose them in the ocean or pool.

The Grown-ass Man BBQ

If your Labor Day plans include something more grown-up than Marco Polo and slip and slide (and by all means, there’s nothing wrong with that), you’ll need to go out looking a little less casual. First, roll the sleeves up on the Gingham print shirt from J. Crew.  The slim fit cotton makes for a comfortable shirt to pair with the washed Stanton shorts, which provide the perfect length and fit.  Next, keep the extras simple and classic with sunglasses, a belt and boat shoes.  Oliver Peoples’ Kelton sunglasses come in several options for the frame and lenses to make these great shades your own.  A two-tone belt matches any sunglasses choice with these Sperry Top Sider 2-Eye boat shoes. The Black Burnished Leather is a Roosevelts favorite.
