The Sanding Ovations Master Sand Sculpting Competition is currently taking please at a beach behind the Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island, FL.

Dan Doubleday and Meredith Corson, two master of the art of sand castling, recently created an impressive sculpture of the White House made from 40 tons of sand.
The White House includes a clever touch. “We left the front door open because we don’t know yet who will occupying the house come January,” said Corson.

The castle took six days to complete are on on display until September 3. This is, unless Hurricane Issac has anything to say.

We are unsure if the castle was able to handle the 90 MPH winds of Hurricane Issac but luckily someone snapped pictures of the brilliant creation before it was presumably wrecked by Mother Nature like the aliens from Independence Day.
