Brown is the new whatever color was cool last year. Be thankful, its a subtle color that you can look cool in without being too flashy or too grandfather in. It’s easy to get away with wearing nearly any shade of brown together while not looking like, well like a piece of sh*t. It’s safe, it’s easy and it’s cool again. Not the football team, the color.
The Blazer

A herringbone or tweed blazer will pass the test of time. A good quality form fitting blazer will be worth the investment. It could be worn on basically any occasion in the fall and is a great alternative if you don’t want to wear a jacket. Be very careful when making the purchase, this isn’t a suit jacket so should be worn slimmer and higher then your average blazer. All Saints Mason Blazer $365
The Bomber

A good ol’ fashioned bomber jacket is a great accent with anything casual. Tshirt, sweater or collared shirt goes fine with a well conditioned bomber. All Saints Kensai Bomber Jacket $275
The Shirt

Not sure if you can pull off the solid brown button down shirt just yet, but a plaid patterned or checkered shirt is perfect, just make sure the shades of brown are noticeably lighter or darker than the pants, sweater or jacket you wear with it. Don’t Regis it. Bonobos Ging Arthur $98.00
The Sweater

Take some risks with the sweater if you want to get noticed. Grab one with some elbow patches. A good quality camel or walnut is the way to go if the rest of your garb is dark. plus you’ll look like one of those rich guys. J. Crew Slim Slub Merino Crewneck $89.50
The Pant

Jeans are and will always be the go to, but once in a while go with a casual pair of chinos or off colored khakis. No matter what color you decide on, stay away from pleats, unless you’re a grandfather or on Boardwalk Empire. Uniqlo Chino Flatfront $39.90
The Shoe

Nike has gone and made the dress shoe crazy now. Whats already being called the future classic, the Lunar Grand Wingtip is the latest model of casual meets dressy. Already being mimicked by basically every other brand, these Cole Haan’s can either be a subtle cool or flashy trendy touch to your work attire. Cole Haan LunarGrande $248.00
The Belt

Your belt says more than you know about what you’ve got on, especially if your shirt is tucked. The thicker brown belts are the way to go this fall. If you already “have” a brown belt, make sure it holds its own with every combination of clothes you’d wear it with. Stay away from white belts at all costs, unless you live in Europe, then… I guess, yeah, whatever, it’s Europe. John Varvatos Belt $75.00
