How Reddit Made a Movie Extra More Famous Than Tom Cruise

Alexander Rhodes didn’t expect much when he posted a link to his IMDB page in a Reddit thread about movie extras in Holocaust films. But Reddit found the University of Pittsburgh student’s brief filmography — he has a bit part in the new Tom Cruise flick Jack Reacher as “Suspicious Onlooker” — so amusing that Rhodes’ page got a decent amount of traffic. So much traffic, actually, that Rhodes is now the first-billed cast member on Jack Reacher’s IMDB page. More popular than Robert Duvall and Richard Jenkins. More popular than Tom Cruise.
