Make a Watch Strap out of Your Vintage Baseball Glove (Watch Wednesday)

There has been a huge demand in the market for special leather watch straps, lately. Italian watch manufacturer, Panerai, have spearheaded this with pop up strap smiths crafting fine leather straps for Panerai watches from a variety of sources: vintage leather jackets, antique gun holsters and in this case a vintage baseball glove. TimeZone recently posted this feature of a member who made a strap for a Breitling Chrono-Matic using a Ron Guidry baseball glove. Guidry’s nickname was “Gator” and the post jokingly notes that the strap could be called a “Gator” strap as a result. If you can bear to part with your childhood mitt, you can take one to a watch strap smith and essentially create a new strap for a decade.
