American Airlines had a bit of a brandlift recently, completely transforming their logo, plane aesthetics and interior decor. The rebranding was much needed after a 40 year run of stagnancy. The reimaged logo still keeps the staple eagle, but now is crossed with a wing accented in blue and red. The kicker is the tail on the plane, a new age abstract rendition of the American Flag. This is precisely what the U.S air industry needed, a tech progressive, comfort first airline, that screams “‘Merica!” In the dying industry of domestic airlines, it’s hard to tell them “Ya gotta, spend money to make money.”, but I can guarantee this is a step in the right direction and will turn some heads, heads who’ve been deterred from taking the decadent tribe of withering U.S. airlines.
