Marc Jacobs Designs New Diet Coke Cans

The new thing in marketing is to hire a famous celebrity to be the creative director for your brand. Bud Light Platinum recently named Justin Timberlake their creative director and Diet Coke just did the same thing with Marc Jacobs.

RefinedGuy.com explains:

But if you live in the United States, you won’t be able to see Jacobs’ first project with the company in stores – the brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Europe, and Jacobs has designed three new cans commemorating the occasion.

This slate of three is just the beginning, with three newly designed bottles coming in the near future. As you can see in the above picture, the cans are festive with an elegant party theme, but they don’t break the mold with anything too radical (they’re still just Diet Coke cans, in other words).

The cans are hitting 11 European markets next month, so if you’re in the U.S., you’ll just have to gaze longingly at the picture above.
