Just in time for his Governors Ball headlining gig it looks like Kanye West may be releasing new music this June. He posted a cryptic message to Twitter and NME.com explains.
Kanye West has posted a mysterious tweet this afternoon which reads: “June Eighteen.”
The rapper updated his Twitter account with the message, and it is the only tweet registered to @KanyeWest, earlier today (May 1). Though it is far from confirmation of any release date, fans are speculating that June 18 could see the rapper release new material in the form of an album or a single. Earlier this week it was reported that Kanye has finished recording his new album, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’.
Hot 97 revealed that West’s label Def Jam recently hosted a listening event for the album, the rapper’s sixth solo offering, with DJ Paul Rosenberg saying: “Everyone at the label that listened to the album loved it. I’ve heard it’s dark, but really good.”
