Photo of the Day: Man Watches As California Wildfires Approach His House

Cool, moist air moved into Southern California on Sunday helping firefighters build containment lines around a huge wildfire burning through coastal mountains. Since it started on Wednesday over 44-square-miles have burned at the western end of the Santa Monica Mountains with over 2,000 fire engines ont he scene battling the flames. In this powerful photo Tweeted by AOL’s John Passantino we see a man standing on a rooftop as the fire approaches. The mystery man has become a symbol of resilience that has been picked up by many news sources.
