The Original Jack Nicholson Joker Concept Art from 1980

When producer Michael Uslan bought the rights to Batman in 1980, his vision was to bring a darker, grittier version of the caped crusader or the big screen. Uslan was looking through the paper when he came across a photo of Jack Nicholson from “The Shining” and immediately knew that was the man that would eventually change the face of the Joker. A mere nine years later Uslan turned Nicholson’s famous “Here’s Johnny!” face into the Clown Prince of Crime.
