30 Rare Photos Of Young John F. Kennedy And Jacqueline Bouvier On Vacation

In May 1952, journalist Charles L. Bartlett introduced then-Massachusetts Representative John Fitzgerald Kennedy to Jacqueline Lee Bouvier at a dinner party in Washington, DC. Shortly after winning a Senate seat that fall, JFK began courting Jackie and June 25, 1953, just a little over a year after meeting, the couple announced their engagement. To celebrate, the pair spent that weekend at the Kennedy family’s famous home in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod. They were accompanied by photographer Hy Peskin and some of the photos made their way to the July 20, 1953, issue of LIFE magazine.
