Food fads come and go — think avocado toast, kale chips and cronuts — but one that seems to stand the test of time is bacon. And with good reason: it’s delicious! That’s a fact that nobody knows more than Ann Arbor, Michigan specialty food store, Zingerman’s, host of the annual Bacon Camp.
No, it’s not some kind of sleep-away camp where you spend the days slaughtering hogs while singing classic bacon songs around the campfire at night. It’s actually five days of bacon-themed activities including a film festival, cooking demonstrations, tastings, and presentations from bacon experts with all proceeds benefitting the Southern Foodways Alliance and the 4H Club of Washtenaw County.
This year’s Camp Bacon runs from May 31 to June 4. Tickets for each event are sold separately and can be purchased at Camp Bacon.
