Brewery Ommegang Is Transforming A Former Prison Into Westeros

Each year, Brewery Ommegang of Cooperstown, New York releases a new brew inspired by HBO’s Game of Thrones. Last year the release of that special beer was at a former prison in Philadelphia that was transformed into Westeros for a special one-night event. And now they’re doing it again.

To coincide with the release of Bend the Knee, a 9% ABV golden ale brewed with honey, Brewery Ommegang is again transforming Philly’s Eastern State Penitentiary into Westeros.

Attendants will be able to sample the new brew along with Ommegang’s other GoT beers while munching on appetizers from Di Bruno Bros. In addition to the kingdoms of Westeros, there will also be characters from the series, fire dancers, live music and a DJ dance party. And of course, there’s an Iron Throne.

Coming 6.21.17. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon.

So how do you get in? Well…you can’t. At least not anymore, because tickets sold out immediately after going on sale last weekend. But if you’re in the Philly area, you may be able to scoop one up on the resale market before the big event on June 21.
