With the Polar Vortex once again gripping New York City we decided to jump ship and head to the Southernmost Point in the United States for three days of adventuring with the new 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid from Subaru. Key West is one of the most scenic and relaxing yet lively locations in the U.S. making it a perfect place to kick back your girl on the beach or get rowdy with a few of your pals on Duval Street. If you have a taste for adventure you can go off-road in search of secluded beach paradises on the surrounding Keys which we did as the first group to push the XV Crosstrek Hybrid’s all-terrain capabilities to the limits in order to see parts of the Keys no one else could. Regardless of what you’re looking for we’ve got your cheat sheet to having a good time in Key West.  In it we’ll cover where to stay, where to go out, what to see and things to do.

Hemingway did not go directly to South Florida from Paris, but rather arrived through Havana, Cuba—a city and country that would prove to be critically important in Hemingway’s later personal and professional life.

  • Super Storm Sandy in Hoboken: Then and Now Photos [RSVLTS Original]

It’s been one year since Hoboken was devastated by Superstorm Sandy. One of the most popular stories in RSVLTS.com history was A First Look At Hurricane Sandy’s Destruction of Hoboken, NJ [70 HQ Photos]. The story captured the chaos and confusion that followed in the days post Superstorm. We were contacted by teachers, museums and news sources looking to use pictures featured in the story to educate students and the public across the country looking for a first hand encounter. View the map we used to shoot the photos >> Hard to believe the storm hit one year ago across the North East. After the destruction struck so close to our homes and offices, we saw the devistation and the process of progress in what seemed  like a seamless transition, thanks to help of first responders, volunteers and the National Guard. Today we attempted to shoot the same iconic photos on the streets of Hoboken to recreate several of those pictures to show how the Mile Square has rebuilt in the past year. The top photo will be the before, showing Hoboken during or just after the storm and the bottom photo will be the picture we shot on October more »

Atlas Genius recently wrapped up a sold-out tour with Imagine Dragons and are now the Australians are hitting the road for their first ever North American headlining tour. They will also perform at numerous festivals, including the Sasquatch! Festival, Lollapalooza, the Firefly Music Festival, Summerfest, Edgefest, San Francisco’s BFD and San Diego’s X-Fest. If the music industry was a high school yearbook than Atlas Genius would be Most Likely To Succeed in the superlatives section. Every major music publication has highlighted Atlas Genius in their “bands to watch in 2013″ lists for good reason. These guys really do rock. To celebrate the honor of being named a “MTV Artist to Watch” the band performed an intimate show at Webster Hall’s The Studio for roughly 100 diehard fans. The set was live streamed over the web and their label hooked us up with a photo pass to capture all the action. The band absolutely crushed it. At one point the power went out to their microphones and instead of crumbling the band capitalized on the adversity by performing their hit single Trojans acoustically-ish to a hushed the crowd. This singalong was definitely the highlight of the night. All-in-all they are definitely more »

We used a Nikon 5200 with a 16-35mm lens which helped us capture these excellent pictures. If you spot yourself or someone you know feel free to download the pictures and share on Facebook.

  • Critiquing Obama’s Pitching Technique

Today, President Barack Obama posted a picture to Facebook of him greasing up the ol’ windmill, practicing his pitching form. • Watch: RSVLTS Original Video “Goats Yelling Like Humans” Featured On Jimmy Kimmel Live!

He is well known for featuring popular YouTube videos, and Goats was the third most shared video on the entire internet last week. So it makes sense that he featured this, but I was still surprised and extremely psyched. It’s amazing how much this has blown up in the last week. • Cool Runnings: Then and Now, 20th Anniversary Reunion Edition

The cast of Cool Runnings recently reunited at Calgary’s Plaza Theatre Sunday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it’s release. Several members of the cast were on hand to sign autographs, take photos and watch a special screening of the beloved movie. Two cast members, Leon Robinson and Doug E. Doug, decided against watching the matinee saying, “Last night I watched it, and I was like ‘OK, that’s enough,’” Doug explained to Metro Calgary. “You start to get critical of yourself. You’re not watching what people are watching. You’re just thinking, ‘Wow, my head looks big. My dreadlocks look messy.’”  So this got us thinking, what is the cast up to these days? Obviously John Candy is no longer with us and Sanka Coffie is an all-star on Facebook but what about everyone else? Let’s do a quick check in. • Exclusive: Hunter Hayes Performs at the Pepsi 5th Quarter Official Super Bowl After-Party

Hunter Hayes is nominated for three Grammy Awards and is the most exciting young talent in the industry. He performed at Pepsi’s 5th Quarter official Super Bowl after-party for a very intimate crowd of a few dozen. Pepsi invited us out to the party and we were fortunate enough to score a spot in the very front. Judging by the reaction we got to our Justin Timberlake videos we figured you guys like seeing music content so we used the opportunity to shoot some video. Hunter reminds us of a young John Mayer with country influence. He is immensely talented, performing every instrument on his debut, self-titled album, has a great voice and wrote or co-wrote all the songs on the album as well. This is a staggering trifecta that will make him a force for years to come.

  • The 17 Types Of People At Your Super Bowl Party

Usually when a “Types Of People At Your Super Bowl Party” list is created it is rehashed from someone else’s list the previous year so the info is out of date and all the types of people are totally negative downers. • $30 Million NYC Bachelor Pad Fit For A President

If you’re in the market for a top notch New York City bachelor pad with a patriotic history look no further. This is one of the most impressive pieces of real estate available in The Big Apple. 80 Washington Place in Greenwich Village was built in 1839 but was recently renovated into a stunning masterpiece of fine design elements ranging from wooden floors, stone walls, and exposed brick. Famed composer and conductor John Philip Sousa owned the house in the early 1900′s. Quick history crash course, Sousa wrote patriotic hits as “Semper Fidelis,” the official march of the Marines, and “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” our nation’s national march. Feel free to bust out this trivia fact when you hold a $5,000-a-plate fund raiser for Chris Christie’ 2016 Presidential campaign. The house hit the market for $31.5 million in June 2012, making it the most expensive townhouse for sale in Greenwich Village, but the sky-high price was lowered to $29.9 million earlier this month. What a steal! Still an outrageous number, but if you can afford this 5-story gem with a 360 degree view from the roof it would make for some epic cocktail parties.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio’s 15 Greatest Movies According To IMDb

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most revered actors currently working in Hollywood. With two highly anticipaed movies set to be released in 2013, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street, it is being reported that Leo will be taking a mini retirement from acting. “I am a bit drained. I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out,” he told German media outlet Bild . In the meantime he said, “I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.” Everyone seems to have a different favorite Leo DiCaprio movie. It’s an argument that could be debated until you’re blue in the face, so instead of doing that we’ve decided to use empirical data from IMDB’s user base of millions to rank his best movies. To the right you’ll see the IMDb rank as decided by users and the movie title.
