• Have You Ever Seen A Garage Apartment Look This Good? [9 Photos and Video]

Photographer Jérémie Buchholtz was looking for a place in Bordeaux, France, but all he could find that fit his budget was a garage. It was pretty much just a metal box that was being used for storage. Buchholtz bought the property anyway and called his friend Matthieu de Marien, an architect who specializes in converting stores and offices into homes. The historic roof couldn’t be touched, but the rest of the garage was rebuilt into a bright and airy home that looks way bigger than its 441 square feet. This is accomplished through the use of all-in-one box that serves as office, closet, and sofa-bed along the perimeter, with a bathroom hidden inside and bedroom on top. The result is an apartment that’s nothing like the space occupied by your creepy middle-aged uncle in your grandparents’ garage.

  • Rent Leonardo DiCaprio’s Palm Springs Bachelor Pad [35 Photos]

Is Leonardo DiCaprio having financial troubles? He recently rented out his $10 million East Village apartment and now he’s renting the Palm Springs estate he bought just a year ago. Hmmm…maybe his new love Rihanna is just making sure he can’t escape to one of his bachelor pads for a secret date with a model or twelve. Whatever the reason, his loss is your gain. As long as you have a ton of cash. For $4,500 per night, you and plenty of friends can stay at Leo’s 7,022-square-foot California digs. With six bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms, there’s plenty of room for you and the huge posse you’ll need to split the cost. And with a swimming pool, tennis court, sauna, and piano, there’s plenty to keep you busy until you (quickly) run out of cash. But good news: daily maid service and free WiFi is included!

  • Historic 1918 Gas Station Transformed Into New Orleans Bachelor Pad

This eclectic, 2000 square-foot 1918 gas station has been renovated into the ultimate New Orleans industrial bachelor pad. Featuring a gourmet kitchen, jacuzzi tub and roof deck, you can jump on the street car which will take you to the French Quarter or you can stay local and enjoy restaurants, coffee shops, bars, New Orleans Museum of Art or the city park nearby.

  • The St. Bart’s Villa Where Leo Held His New Year’s Party [21 Photos]

Leonardo DiCaprio took his scraggly beard, now-signature man bun, and a menagerie of models to St. Bart’s to party in a 16,000-square-foot beachside villa. The $28,000-a-night luxury pad features six bedrooms, a recording studio, a movie theater, a private pool, and a whiskey bar. Fellow “pussy posse” buds Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly were also there, along with Chris Rock, Lana Del Rey, Salma Hayek, and even Jon Bon Jovi. Well at least now we know why Leo never got back to us about partying at RSVLTS HQ. Maybe next year…

  • Jonathan Toews Bought This $3.5 Million Chicago Bachelor Pad

How do you celebrate the signing of an 8-year, $84 million contract extension with the Chicago Blackhawks? Well if you’re captain Jonathan Toews, you trade in your condo for a $3.5 million mansion on Chicago’s North Side. The 6,000-square-foot home features five bedroom and five bathrooms—perfect for all the kids he doesn’t have! There’s also an elevator, to easily get around the 4-story home, along with an outdoor kitchen and roof deck above the attached garage. That’s nice and all, but a Yamaha piano? I would have pegged him for a Steinway man…

  • Bachelor Pad Made Of Liquid Stone [16 Photos]

India’s SPASM Design Architects looked to the large amounts of basalt rock for inspiration in constructing this home in Khopoli. Using granular basalt mixed with water, cement, and sand, they created a unique black concrete to construct the home, allowing it to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings. The modern, open plan puts focus on the incredible natural surroundings rather than what’s inside the home. And one look off the cliff edge is all you need to see why. There is also a pool overlooking the edge of the cliff for those rare dry days where you yearn for the refreshing wetness of monsoon season.

  • Live Long And Prosper In This Star Trek Bachelor Pad [22 Photos]

Marc Bell, best known as former CEO of FriendFinder Networks, a company we’ve never heard of and whose services we have certainly never used when drunk and lonely, is selling his home in Boca Raton, Florida. And at $35 million, it’s the most expensive listing in the city’s history. From the outside, the 8-bedroom, 16-bath home looks like any run of the mill Mediterranean-style mansion you’ve seen. But inside the 27,000 square foot home is a replica of the control room from Star Trek’s Enterprise spaceship along with a “Call of Duty” themed room and a huge arcade. Outside you’ll find a basketball court, pool, and lounge complete with a giant chess set. For more info, beam yourself up to Douglas Elliman Real Estate. And may the force be with you or something.

  • Dracula’s Transylvania Bachelor Pad For Sale [25 HQ Photos]

You’d have to be batty to pass this up: Transylvania’s Bran Castle, also known as “Dracula’s Castle,” is up for sale. Although the castle was never the residence of Vlad the Impaler, the basis for Bram Stoker’s Dracula character, it is believed to be the influence for the setting of the gothic novel. The 57-room, 22-acre castle features a dungeon, music room, lavish dining areas, tall towers…and no bathrooms or plumbing. But don’t let the state of this fixer-upper scare you: With half a million visitors per year paying about $7 admission, the castle basically pays for itself. The price isn’t listed, but it’s believed to sell for over $135 million. Remember that scene in “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” where Keanu Reeves is seduced by the three brides (including Monica Bellucci!)? A chance at that is totally worth $135 mil.

  • House Of Mirrors Bachelor Pad [14 Photos]

Hidden in the hills of the San Francisco suburb of Larkspur lies the Turner Residence. Designed by San Francisco’s Jensen Architects, the facade of the home includes floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass panels that reflect the surrounding oaks, camouflaging the structure. The main pavilion on the the third floor of the house contains the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Adjacent to the pavilion are the swimming pool and cedar spa. The two floors below contain the bedrooms, bathrooms, and garage.  Completed in August of 2013, the house is sure to turn heads. If anyone can spot it, that is. For a detailed description of the design and construction process, visit Jensen Architects.

  • Own Prince’s Spanish Bachelor Pad [11 Photos]

Superstar musician Prince, who currently spends his time suing his fans for millions of dollars for posting 30 year old concert videos, has put his Spanish mansion up for sale. Prince purchased the 6 bedroom, 6 bath house in 1998 as a wedding gift for a now ex-wife. There is a lot less purple velvet than one would expect, and no basketball court, but there is a huge kitchen perfect for making pancakes. Outside you’ll find a tennis court, jacuzzi, and heated pool along with a security system to keep all those pesky fans away. Buy it today on Luxury Estate for the low price of $7.8 million—little red corvette not included.

  • Wyoming Bachelor Pad With Indoor Stream [9 Photos]

This Wyoming bachelor pad has everything you could possibly want—a huge great room, a billiards room, and even an indoor stream! That’s right, the foyer features a glass covered indoor stream right under your feet. And the same groundwater pumped in for the stream is also found in conduits located under the home for the geothermal cooling system. The 4400 square foot home also features 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, along with studio and office space. The home was constructed using reclaimed wood, giving it a rustic, weathered appearance despite being built just 10 years ago. It’s a great house, just be sure to keep your more girthsome friends out of the foyer. I don’t know how strong that glass is.

  • Australian Bachelor Pad Hovers Over The Beach [18 Photos]

Originally built in 1978, Australia’s iconic “Pole House” on the Great Ocean Road was really showing its age when the current owners purchased the property in 2005. After 13 months of renovation by Melbourne’s F2 Architecture, the house has reopened, with no signs of the Berber carpeted walls or light fixtures made from green wine bottles. From the outside, the house looks very much the same, but inside it is sleek and modern. The only hint of its age is the 1960s-era floating fireplace, which would have been foolish to remove. The entire house is basically one big, open room looking out onto the ocean. The supporting pole and bathroom are concealed in a burnt ash timber wall. And the best part? The house is available for vacation rentals through Great Ocean Road Holidays. You’ll be sure to get plenty of Sheilas, mate.

  • Incredible African Wilderness Bachelor Pad [18 Photos]

The Lower Zambezi in Zambia is well known in Africa as one of the best spots for viewing wild elephant herds and predators and also for the fantastic Zambezi River. It also happens to be where the Chongwe River House is located. The incredible house, looking almost like an upscale Flintstones abode, is a perfect resting spot when you’re on safari. 8 can sleep in the 4 ensuite bedrooms and the house is fully staffed with a guide, house manager, and private chefs. And while you’re relaxing in the pool, there’s a good chance you’ll catch some elephants taking a drink from the adjacent Zambezi River. For more info on renting the house, check out Chongwe River House.

  • Ecuadorian Bachelor Pad Made From Steel [22 Photos]

Architects José María Sáez and Daniel Moreno Flores constructed the Algarrobos House in 2011 in Ecuador using steel. 8 identical 18 meter long steel beams placed along the x y z axis frame the house. Identical wood pieces fill in the area and the repetition dilutes the structure so as not to take away from its surroundings. Giant glass panes, many of them movable, complete the structure and offer fantastic panoramas. Reflecting pools on the metal roof truly reflect by mirroring the surrounding landscape. The abstract form is at once a jarring sight in the setting while somehow managing to blend in.

  • Own Al Capone’s Florida Villa For $8.44 Million [23 Photos]

Al Capone’s Miami Villa, where he died from complications from syphilis in 1947, is back on the market. The 1922 Villa was purchased last year for $7 million but apparently houses where STD-infested gangsters spent their final days in dementia are hot right now and the house is now listed at $8.44 million. Although much of the property has changed in the 67 years since Capone’s passing, some original elements, like the black and gold Art Deco powder room, remain. And if security is a concern, Capone’s got you covered. High walls and heavy iron doors are sure to stop the G-Men from showing up unannounced. There is also a large swimming pool with marble all around and a 2 bedroom cabana, perfect for hosting parties where maybe, if you’re lucky, you can contract your very own venereal disease. How can you pass this up? Contact Sotheby’s and put in your bid right now!

  • Mysterious Secluded Bachelor Pad In Joshua Tree National Park [22 Photos]

The inexplicably named Black Desert House, a black house in the desert area of California’s Joshua Tree National Park (oh, I guess it’s explicable after all), is a joint venture between Marc Atlan Design and Oller & Pejic Architects. Set on a 2.5 acre lot, the 1570 square-foot home features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Set back on a private road with no neighbors in view, you’re guaranteed plenty of privacy when out in the 30 foot long and 8 foot deep pool. Unfortunately, the Black Desert House is not for sale, but it is available exclusively for professional location rentals. So if you want to rent the space, theoretically you could take your special lady on a trip there as long as you turn the vacation into a photo or video shoot. Just convince her of the artistic value involved.

  • Lower East Side Penthouse Bachelor Pad [12 Photos]

New York City’s Lower East Side, formerly one of the most eclectic neighborhoods with bums warming themselves on garbage can fires, a thriving art and music scene, and a cornucopia of drugs, has since followed the rest of the city in becoming uninterestingly safe and sterile. And expensive. This incredible 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath penthouse on Avenue B was originally listed last year for $6 million. Apparently there wasn’t enough interest, so it’s now on the rental market for $19,500, perfect for someone who has lots of money but little commitment. The main level is surrounded by 2618 square feet of personal terrace space with a built-in hot tub, perfect for those late nights where you ponder what the poor people are doing. The penthouse also features 19 foot ceilings, a fully loaded kitchen with two convection ovens, and a 63″ TV home theater system. And with all the money you’ll be spending on rent, it’s nice to know that you can save a few bucks by drinking $3 beer at neighborhood staples like Manitoba’s and Doc Holliday’s.

The glass facade creates a welcoming atmosphere that is sure to impress any guests.

  • Manhattan Micro Loft Bachelor Pad [10 Photos]

Located at the top of a Manhattan brownstone, this loft offered the architects at Specht Harpman only 425 square feet to work with BUT with 25 feet of vertical space, they made this amazing micro loft. Through brilliant use of levels, every inch of the space is put to use. The fisrt level is the entry and kitchen, leading to the living space a few steps up. Then stairs lead to a bed pavilion projected over the living area that also has stairs up to a roof garden. The staircases contain storage area and even a bathroom. With very little furniture necessary, what was once a cramped space now seems perfectly comfortable.

You could be the owner of the the residence that the “chairman of the board” didn’t just live in, but also designed. You can just imagine the parties thrown in the 3200 square foot space, with Dino singing, Sammy dancing, Joey telling jokes, and Peter Lawford leering at teenage girls. The Upper East Side apartment has 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 2 wraparound terraces that total almost 2000 square feet. Honestly, you can’t afford to not buy it. The home was previously offered for $29 million, a steal when you consider Wayne Newton’s $48 million pad.

  • Wayne Newton’s Las Vegas Bachelor Pad For Sale [21 Photos]

You may remember Wayne Newton’s Las Vegas bachelor pad, known as Shenandoah, from the 90s classic “National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation” where he failed to seduce Beverly D’Angelo before Chevy Chase came to her rescue. Now you can own this piece of cinematic history for only $48 million! That’s not bad considering it was originally listed for $70 million a couple months ago. But what does that sort of money get you (besides the adulation of “Wayniacs,” obviously)? You get a main mansion, 7 additional guest houses, an airport, an F28 jet, stables, a zoo, a tennis court, an equestrian pool, numerous ponds and enough tackiness to make you puke. That peacock near the elevator better be included, too. That’s a real deal breaker if not.
