  • Space Shuttle Enterprise Docks At It’s New Home On New York’s Hudson River [25 High Quality Photos]

The space shuttle Enterprise – named after the spaceship in Star Trek – floated past the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center on a barge on Wednesday and docked near its new home at a museum on New York’s Hudson River. Crowds of people turned out to see the retired spacecraft make its final approach to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum where it was placed on display atop the World War II aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. For a shuttle that never made it into space, Enterprise has had quite a journey. In April, hundreds of tourists and New Yorkers watched in awe as Enterprise flew over the city piggy-backed on a Boeing 747 Jumbo jet.

The 2012 Major League Baseball Draft took place in Secaucus, NJ yesterday. • First Successful Wingsuit Landing Without a Parachute [18 High Quality Photos]

Gary Connery (most likely related to Sean) just set a world record for landing in a wingsuit without a parachute and for also having the largest pair of metaphorical balls on the planet. You may have seen the video last week but here are a few pictures that show just how crazy the feat was.

  • 15 Mesmerizing High Quality Photos of the Solar Eclipse

From a park near Albuquerque, to the top of Japan’s Mount Fuji, to the California coast the effect was dramatic: the moon centered and covered about 96 percent of the sun creating a blazing “ring of fire” annular eclipse. Millions of people across a narrow strip of eastern Asia and the Western U.S. turned their sights skyward for the annular eclipse, in which the moon passes in front of the sun leaving only a golden ring around its edges.

  • Earliest Known Babe Ruth Game-Worn Jersey Shatterers Memorabilia Auction Record [9 High Quality Photos]

How much would you pay for your favorite piece of memorabilia. This weekend  it was announced that someone with very deep pockets shelled out a record price for the earliest known Babe Ruth game worn jersey. SCP Auctions, based in California, said the circa 1920 New York Yankees uniform top worn shortly after he was sold to the Yankees by the Boston Red Sox for $100,000 following the 1919 season fetched $4,415,658 at the company’s April auction, which ended Sunday. This far exceeded the $2 million pre auction estimate. That price broke the previous record of $4,338,500 set in 2010 for James Naismith’s founding rules of basketball. Below you can see the description of the auction from SCP and several high quality photos of the jersey. Once you are done check out this awesome photo set of Babe Ruth from his playing days with the Boston Red Sox. In a time when baseball, reeling from the 1919 Black Sox scandal, declining attendance and declining credibility, needed a revitalization, Babe Ruth saved the day. By destiny’s hand, the most visible, dominating, and popular athlete in American history was brought to New York City to play on baseball’s biggest stage. At the dawn of the more »

  • A Look Inside Facebook’s 57-Acre Silicon Valley Campus [15 High Quality Photos]

On the eve of Facebook becoming a publicity traded company Wall Street Journal posed a poignant question, “Can you keep a freewheeling, youthful culture once you have become a $100 billion publicly traded corporation?” Facebook’s 57-acre Silicon Valley campus, which it moved to in December 2011, is chock full of amenities, ranging from a barbecue shack and two coffee shops to an on-site doctor, laundry and dry-cleaning facilities and a fitness center with personal trainers. We like to call this start-up culture on steroids, much different from Pinterest’s garage style set-up. Most of us will never set foot on to Facebook’s campus so to give you perspective we take a look at the beautiful shots from WSJ when they were given an all access tour for their must-read article, “Facebook From the Inside Out.”

  • Scenes From Mothers Day Around Major League Baseball [34 High Quality Photos]

Major League Baseball honored Mother’s across America yesterday with the annual tradition that sees players using pink bats, pink arm bands, even the bases and line-up cards are pink. Many of this equipment is auctioned off after the game to raise money for breast cancer research. Mother’s Day seemed to produce a flair for the dramatic this year, with the Marlins’ Giancarlo Stanton and the Reds’ Joey Votto both connected on walk-off grand slams Sunday, marking the first day with two walk-off slams since April 10, 1998, when Mo Vaughn of the Red Sox and the Padres’ Steve Finley accomplished the feat. The St. Louis Cardinals also made a nice gesture to Chipper Jones, which you can see below. All in all it was a great day and if you couldn’t make it to the ballpark because you were meeting up with Mom here are a few pictures from about MLB.

The soon-to-be 40 year old lefty is set to rejoin the New York Yankees and start this Sunday at home against the Seattle Mariners. Baseball fans, no matter what their team affiliation, can all agree that the game Sunday will be one of the highlights of the MLB year to date.  Andy retired after the 2010 season, sat out last year and despite five shaky innings Sunday in his first Triple-A start in his comeback, allowing five runs and eight hits, the Yankees still think he can get the job done. Andy has pitched four times in the minors this year with a 3.71 ERA in 17 innings so Sunday’s game will certainly be exciting!

  • The Lamborghini Urus is Italian for Speed Boner

Lamborgini Has finally unveiled its Urus. The SUV is named after the Spanish bull synonymous with bull fighting. It’s a breathtaking design. The elegant curves resemble Christine Hendricks with a combination of Lambo-esque angles. It’s unmistakably Lamborghini, looking incredibly strong in a refined way. The 600-horsepower all-wheel-drive vehicle it’s a big SUV, stretching to 4990mm long, but at 1660mm tall it’s closer to coupe-kind than mud-pluggers. The Italian automaker targets 600 horsepower for the output, but does not specify the engine configuration – but considering the automaker claims that the Urus will boast the lowest CO2 emissions of any vehicle in its class, we suspect that some manner of turbocharging will be applied to Lambo’s V10.
