  • 10 Athletes I’d Love to See Chase After a (Speeding) Justin Beiber

Justin Beiber is under investigation after allegedly speeding through a gated community in LA in his white ferrari. The cops aren’t the only ones interested in Beiber’s activities, former football player Keyshawn Johnson followed Beiber to his house to confront him on his reckless driving, but Beiber danced his way into his house without talking to Johnson. Keyshawn was a prolific receiver, but he wasn’t fast back in his prime so there’s no way he could chase after the Beibs these days. But I can think of at least 10 athletes today that can stop the Beibs today and make everyone regret being a Belieber.

  • Babe Ruth’s Home Runs in Perspective (Infographic)

Babe Ruth’s home run numbers compared to the players of today are impressive. Compared to his peers they are basically unfathomable. An attempt to put them in perspective. In 1920 The Sultan of Swat hit more home runs than every team in the league except the Phillies and in 1921 hit more than the second and third leaders on the list combined.

  • Yanks & Red Sox Jump in Fear as Thunder Booms Close to Stadium

On Sunday night, the Yankees and Red Sox game was delayed three times because of scattered thunderstorms. During the third delay, a select few from both teams decided to wait out the delay under the safe awning of the dugout until thunder and lightning struck a little to close to home. The dugout cam from both ends captures players jumping in shock, holding each other frightfully as the sound blew through Yankee Stadium. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, the 6’4″ catcher for the Sox, had enough and shuffled into the clubhouse after the boom sent him airborne. .

  • Elimination of Human Error vs. Sports Tradition: The Replay Debate.

The game’s officials—whether they’re called the referee or the umpire—are often the least popular person on the field during a sporting event. When the official makes a poor call, it can lead to fan-based incensement of Steve Barton-like proportions. If you are unsure of the aforementioned statement, then just ask Don Denkinger—a former Major League Baseball Umpire who, despite an illustrious career in the profession, suffered through many threatening letters from St. Louis Cardinals fans in the wake of the 1985 World Series. This adversity happened as a result of Denkinger’s erroneous call—one that placed Kansas City Royals batter, Jorge Orta safely at first.

  • Top 10 Most Disliked Contemporary Athletes

Hate is always a strong word, and it is somewhat puzzling that people would hate a person who they have never met. But, with sports media reaching such heights as those in modern times, the layman will always look for an athlete to loathe. However, some athletes have done nothing to truly deserve any of the negative attention that they get. It may be something they said in a press conference, the general disliking of their team, or any other trifle reason that attracts mass disgust. While the latterly reason for hatred isn’t as valid is the formerly mentioned, it is a simple fact of mass televised sports. Some receptors of negative emotion are well deserved, as they have sought to capitalize on their fame in order to break the rules of sport, or to commit harmful crimes. That being said, all the athletes chronicled on this list seem to be generally disliked. While some of the athletes may be personally disliked, it is not necessarily true for all them. The purpose of this article is to examine public opinion over personal opinion.

  • Can Yu Do it? Yu Darvish Could Join a Very Exclusive Stirkeout Club (Infographic)

Yu Darvish could become the second foreign born player to reach 300K’s. The only other player to accomplish this feat in the modern era is Pedro Martinez. Darvish is on pace to break Pedro’s record, exploding in his first couple of years in the majors. He obviously has the height factor, standing on the mound at 6’5″, trumping Pedro by 6″. IF he continues to walk the path he’s on, Yu is projected to hit the 350 mark.

  • How Long Until A Major MMA Star Dies In The Octagon?

MMA is widely recognized as the fastest growing sport in The United States.  It is a compelling mix of technical elegance and raw brutality that combines for mongoose quick submissions and lightning strike knockouts that no one forgets….save for the man receiving that strike on the chin.  With that excitement comes danger and that danger is mortal.  Men truly are risking their lives every time they step into a space reserved for combat.

  • LeBron James: The King of the Flop [RSVLTS Original Supercut Compilation]

No player in the NBA is more gratuitous when it comes to flopping than the Miami Heat’s LeBron James. Two LeBron James quotes to keep in mind: “I don’t need to flop,” LeBron said back during the Bulls series. “I play an aggressive game. I don’t flop. I’ve never been one of those guys.” “It’s year one, so you’re not just going to go cold turkey,” James said. “Guys have been accustomed to doing it for years, and it’s not even a bad thing. You’re just trying to get the advantage. Any way you can get the advantage over an opponent to help your team win, then so be it.” TIP: NAVIGATE GALLERY USING < LEFT AND RIGHT > ARROW KEYS

  • Klinsmann Omitting Landon Donovan from U.S. Soccer Team Could Be A Mistake

Jurgen Klinsmann has been controversial lately as the coach of the United States soccer team. Klinsmann is a huge part of the sport’s history, making huge contributions as a player and as the one-time coach of his own country, Germany, and is now making history as coach of the US but possibly for the wrong reasons. Klinsmann’s latest move that is not sitting well with his status as coach of the US national soccer team is not including Landon Donovan in the US squad for friendly games at the end of May and three World Cup Qualifiers in June. Yes, Landon Donovan, one of US best player ever, is not going to play in possibly three World Cup qualifying games! The German coach has stated that Donovan is not fit to play for the US squad yet. See, Donovan had taken a hiatus from the sport right after the soccer star won a second straight MLS Cup with his team, the LA Galaxy, back in December due to mental and physical fatigue. So, Klinsmann’s point stands but it could be a mistake. Donovan has recently made his come-back at the end of March playing with the Los Angeles Galaxy and, more »

  • The Internet Really Wants LeBron James To Be An NFL Quarterback

LeBron James has a lot of untapped football potential. While at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio he was the starting varsity quarterback as a 14 year-old freshman year and an all-state wide receiver his sophomore and junior year. So what would have happened if LeBron didn’t quit football his senior year to focus on basketball? This has become an obsession on the internet ever since former NFL star Joe Theismann said the 6-foot-8, 250-pound elite athlete could be a star quarterback. “I would love to work him out and also serve as his agent,” Theismann told FOX Sports Florida last Saturday. “I’ll go wherever he wants this summer. He could play another four years in the NBA before seriously trying the NFL. … There are not a lot of 38- or 39-year-old basketball players, but there are 38- and 39-year-old quarterbacks, so there’s always time for him.” Most would think that LeBron and his ability to jump and get free in tight spaces with defenders all around him would be an amazing NFL receiver but according to ESPN’s Sports Science, Theismann could be on to something. • 7 Things You Need To Know About The NBA’s One-And-Done Rule

This week, Andrew Wiggins, the top-recruited high schooler in the country decides to play for Kansas in the fall. Pundits are arguing that Wiggins is the best prospect coming out of high school since Lebron James. Now the clamor rises that if Wiggins were eligible for this year’s draft, he would go first over Nerlens Noel. This has some crying for repeal and others saying that one year in college isn’t enough. This is what you need to know about the One-And-Done Rule. 1. The Rule Isn’t About Being One-And-Done The rule is a minimum age requirement. Players eligible the NBA draft must be at least 19 years old and a year removed from their high school graduation. The spirit of the rule isn’t to ensure one year of college basketball. In fact, the NBA doesn’t restrict going pro out of high school. In fact, they don’t even restrict picking up an NBA paycheck. The options afforded to high school graduates include: playing overseas, playing for the NBA Development League, and of course going to college. Bucks star Brandon Jennings took the European route to the NBA, playing for Lottomatica Roma in the interim year before declaring for the draft in more »

We all know who Michael Jordan is. • The 10 Greatest Moments In New York vs Boston Rivalry History

One Babe Ruth trade later, and the rivalry was in full force—initiating memorable moments that would cross generations and sporting boundaries. That rivalry has shown itself greatly in this year’s sporting postseasons—with the Knicks trumping the Celtics, and the Rangers and the Bruins currently entrenched in what promises to be a series that worsens the already lack of fondness between the two cities. But, what are the best New York against Boston showdowns of all time? • 5 Reasons Why The Grizzles Could Shock The World and Win The Championship

After laying waste to both the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder—who were both heavy favorites entering the playoffs—the Memphis Grizzlies are now pitted against  the San Antonio Spurs, a team that has dominated the West for a decade and some change. Like the previous series, nothing will come easy for Memphis. They are just learning how to compete in the playoffs as they haven’t had much throughout the history of their franchise. Despite losing the first game of the series against the Spurs, they’re still in the running. After all, a series truly begins when someone gets a W at their opponent’s home. Nevertheless, the core of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, and Zach Randolph has shown signs of brilliance in the recent years, notably upsetting the San Antonio Spurs in the 2011 playoffs in which the Spurs were the number one seed in the West. The Grizzlies were eighth—the last seed. Will the Grizzlies be able to overcome the Spurs and make the NBA Finals for the first time ever? And if they get there, will they have a shot against their Eastern Conference counterpart (either the Miami Heat or Indiana Pacers)? The infant franchise has better chance than you think, more »

  • Your Current MLB Batting Avg Leader Got Owned in Wiffle Ball

As of today, James Loney leads the MLB in batting avg and much desrved. Loney’s well oiled batting eye has gained him acclaim from around the league and now he has has the top spot to prove it. Although Loney has forty less at bats than the man in second place (Miguel Cabrera), it’s still a feat for the rising star to be put in a category with the Triple Crown winner. Though Loney has 11 multi-hit outings already this season, he thinks we forgot about a segment on Sports Science a few years back yonder, in which Jimbo was featured going head to head with one of the best wiffle ball pitchers to ever play the game, Joel De Roche, a Wiffle Ball Cy Young Winner (it exists). De Roche made the “rising star” look flat out silly, making the ball dance and dive to a point that left Loney clueless. After Loney was given a bat that matched the size of a big league club, he eventually made contact, but no one remembers that.  People don’t forget, James.

  • The 2013 NBA Playoff All-Injury Team

The Miami Heat are coasting through the 2013 Playoffs and it’s not just a testament to how good they are. They’ve also been very lucky, with the best players from opposing teams having gotten hurt left and right. And considering that we’re at the tail end of the NBA awards season where players, coaches, and general managers have been awarded trophies for their achievement, it’s only fitting that we —in true awards season fashion— celebrate those who are not currently with us on the court. Here are five players who have succumbed to the injury bug, hereby dubbed the 2013 All-Injury team. PG – Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls Injury: ACL Tear The way in which Derrick Rose sustained his injury last year was crushing. Who can forget Rose nursing his injury on the court in the fetal position? Much has been made of the way Chicago has handled Rose’s return since he was cleared to play months ago, but would the Bulls have fared better this year against the Miami Heat in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs? It seems like a viable idea on paper. but you have to remember that chemistry plays a greater role in basketball than the average more »

  • 5 Reasons Why Lebron James Is A True To Life X-Man

The world of professional sports is like living in a comic book where everything is faster, higher, stronger, harder and infinitely more intense; star athletes are like mutant, superhuman X-Men characters.  For everyone that labors under the false notion that they were an ounce of training short of taking their talents to the show, read up and get an education in reality.  Who better illustrates this point than King James himself.

  • When Will The NFL Return to Los Angeles?

Behind New York City and ahead of Chicago, Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States. It is the epicenter of the entertainment industry, and is among the largest markets on the planet. The aforementioned being established, it is puzzling that—after two failed attempts with the Rams and the Raiders— the residents of Los Angeles have not had a football team to claim as their own. Boasting two baseball teams—the Angels and the Dodgers, two basketball teams—the Lakers and Clippers, and a Stanley Cup Champion hockey team—the Kings, the demand for a football team in the City of Angles is growing. Well, in what seemed like a bit of good news for Los Angeles residents, a wealthy entrepreneur named Phil Anschultz entered the fray amidst all of the idle chatter about the NFL bringing a second team to Southern California.

  • Kobe Bryant Tweets a Grotesque Picture of His Surgery, Crosses Social Media Boundaries

In case you’ve been living under a rock the past couple months, Kobe Bryant has taken up social media in an unprecedented way. After rupturing his achilles tendon, Kobe has embraced the 21st century and has quickly ascended my Power Rankings of Favorite Tweeters and Instagrammers. Congrats Mamba, you’re my number one! Recently, he’s been giving updates on his rehab as he tries to prove his haters wrong and comeback from his most devastating injury of his career. But Kobe crossed a line this past week. A social media line, that is usually reserved for the creepy people on the internet not named Kobe. He Instagrammed a picture of his achilles surgery and it was the most disgusting picture I’ve seen since Kevin Ware’s broken leg made its way on the interwebs.

  • Does Tiger Deserve Forgiveness from Golf Fans?

Tiger Woods is once again the top ranked golfer in the world, but is still among the top most hated athletes in America.  Apparently, cheating on your wife is the worst thing you can do in the sports world short of killing dogs.  Sorry, Michael Vick, most people hate you more than Tiger.  However, I digress.  Tiger Woods is finally starting to rebuild his character, but does he deserve to be forgiven?

  • The Perfect Athlete (video)

Meet, Shane Perkins, the world champion and Australia’s fastest track cyclist. Shane is more machine than human at this point in his career, tossing away human emotion and sacrifice like a piece of lint flicked off a shirt. He is, essentially, the Ivan Drago of track cycling. “Shane is finely tuned to be like a Formula 1 car, he just needs that exact body function and biomechanics in order to perform at the optimal level”, says Arnaud Domange, Shane’s soft tissue therapist.
