    49 year-old Jamie Moyer is enjoying another Spring Training. With the Rockies, Jamie Moyer is entering his ninth organization and 25th season. The guy refuses to hang it up and defying all logic there is a real good chance he could get a starting rotation spot with the Rockies this year. What better way to look at the early stages of Jamie’s career than with some old school baseball cards!   • Joe Ayoob’s World Record Paper Airplane Throw [Video]

    Joe Ayoob, a former college football quarterback at Cal went to a hangar at McClellan Air Force Base, near Sacramento and threw a paper airplane 226 feet, 10 inches, officially breaking the world record by 19 feet, 6 inches. Outside of his record smashing throw Joe has had a pretty interesting athletic career according to ESPN: Playing quarterback for two seasons at Cal, succeeding Aaron Rodgers and competing alongside future NFL stars DeSean Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Prior to that, he went 23-1 as a starter at City College of San Francisco and guided his high school team to two section championship games. He also played arena football professionally for three years. The plane was designed by John Collins and he has four cool plane designs on his website if you’re interested in trying to enter the paper airplane game.

    Being a professional surfer is one of those rare jobs that most people should envy but probably don’t. Most people what to be a professional quarterback or hit clean up for the Yankees. Sure those jobs pay multi-multi millions and have a ton of perks but there is also ridiculous pressure and your private life is non existent.   • Ben and Jerry’s Pulls “Lin-Sanity” Ice Cream

    Controversy arose after Ben and Jerry’s launched their “Taste The Lin-Sanity” which was a mix of vanilla frozen yogurt, lychee honey swirls and the fortune cookie pieces. People on the web started bugging out claiming racism so the company decided to pull the handmade flavor and issued an apology. “We are proud and honored to have Jeremy Lin hail from one of our fine, local universities and we are huge sports fans,” Ben & Jerry’s said in the news release. “Our intention was to create a flavor to honor Jeremy Lin’s accomplishments and his meteoric rise in the NBA, and recognize that he was a local Harvard graduate. We try (to) demonstrate our commitment as a Boston-based, valued-led business and if we failed in this instance we offer our sincere apologies.”

  • Jack Blankenship Brings His Comically Oversized Face To Linsanity At MSG [Photo]

    Jack Blankenship who has been distracting basketball players by holding up a giant photo of his contorted face behind the basket made his way to Madison Square Garden to watch Jermemy Lin play. In an ESPN article about Jack the Alabama freshman said  he has seen the giant heads that fans hold up at basketball games. Usually they’re photos of celebrities or tributes to their team’s players. But he decided he knew a better way to distract opposing players. “I thought it’d be cool to find a way to get a picture of myself and bring it to the games and hold it up,” Blankenship said.
