  • Aerial Shots Of Iceland Or Middle Earth? [13 Photos]

Iceland, Europe’s most sparsely populated country, is known for it’s incredible natural vistas. With volcanoes, geysers, and waterfalls and bursting with color thanks to an abundance of lichen varieties, it is like nowhere else on Earth. And as magical as it looks from the ground, it’s even more otherworldly when seen from above. France-based photographer Sarah Martinet recently traveled to Iceland and captured these incredible shots from the open windows of an airplane. The landscapes, free of civilization but bursting with natural wonder, look more like Middle Earth from the Lord of the Rings than anything in our world. Check out some of the series below and take a fantasy vacation through the rest of the photos at Sarah Martinet Photography.

  • Startling Ad Campaign Shows The Divide Between Rich And Poor

Photographer Oscar Ruiz worked with Publicis Mexico on an ad campaign called “Erase the Differences” which casts a light on the inequality in Mexico City. The 4 aerial photographs illustrate the stark differences between the way of life for the rich and poor in Mexico, despite the fact the two groups are living right next to each other. The rich can try to hide the poor behind trees and walls, but ignoring the problem doesn’t make it go away. The campaign aims to spread awareness on the need for community redevelopment in the country where half the population lives in poverty. Now that the issue has been brought to light, what will be done?

  • Beautiful Aerial Photography by Klaus Leidorf [27 Photos]

Photographer Klaus Leidorf takes these incredible aerial shots from a Cessna 172 Skyhawk light aircraft using a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III and Canon EOS 5D Mark II. His finished product is this beautiful collection of photographs that look more like up-close shots of miniatures rather than the real-life aerials that they actually are. Life sure looks a lot more peaceful from up there.
