Scenes From Fenway Park’s 100th Birthday Celebration [21 High-Res Photos]
On Friday, April 20, 2012 the Boston Red Sox celebrated Fenway Park’s 100th birthday with a game against American League East rivals the New York Yankees. The team invited every living former player, John Williams conducted the Boston Pops in the National Anthem, and the first pitch was thrown out by Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK, and obvious choice since it was her great-grandfather Boston Mayor John F. Fitzgerald who threw out the first pitch on Opening Day April 20, 1912 of Fenway Park’s first season. Here are photos from the festivities.
