Fandom in American Sports is one of this country’s most celebrated cultural aspects. Often, fans go to games and–amidst a crowd of fellow game goers– go home unnoticed. However, there are rare occasions when fans become just as famous–if not more so– than the players on the field. To state the obvious, spectator sports are excessively popular in America. Namely, the sports of Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey are collectively referred to as America’s four major sports. Sporting teams can unite a city, and establish a common brotherhood within the residents of a community. However, there are some sports patrons who take their fandom to extremist levels—detracting from the enjoyment of others. This will be an article that discusses the sporting world’s most annoying types of fans—not the teams or the cities with the most obnoxious fans.
