  • Watch Nic Cage as Superman in a Movie Tim Burton Nearly Made

Deep in the heart of the ’90s Tim Burton set out to make a new era of Superman movie. Similar to his resurgence of the Batman franchise, Burton would put his own spin on Superman and make a movie very similar to the Man of Steel franchise out now. With the help of Kevin Smith a new era of Superman was almost born. And yes, Nicolas Cage would’ve almost played the most beloved superhero of all time. Awesomely awful or awfully awesome.

  • Hilarious “Gravity” Alternate Scene [Video]

Sure, “Gravity” was a great movie, but if they had included this bit, it would have been even better. For more work from the genius behind this, Krishna Shenoi, check out his website, featuring more videos, paintings, music, and photography. Also, his 1950s “Inception” trailer is pretty great, too.

  • Superman With A GoPro Is Better Than Man Of Steel [Video]

Warner Bros. could have saved a lot of time and money if they had just gone with this simple, fun approach to Superman. Using a DJI Phantom quadcopter, GoPro camera, and little bit of vfx knowledge, this LA team was able to make a better Superman production than Hollywood. I can just imagine in the near future a sky filled with quadcopters trying to capture shots for amateur filmmakers. You want to make millions? Be the person who comes up with a system that will keep the drones from crashing into each other. But until that day of utter quadcopter calamity comes, enjoy the work these guys did and watch the “behind the scenes” to see how it all came together.

  • DC Comics Celebrates Superman’s 75th Anniversary with Animated Short

From the creative minds of Zack Snyder (Man of Steel), Bruce Timm and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this short follows Superman through the years, from his first appearance on the cover of Action Comics #1 to Henry Cavill in this year’s Man of Steel…all in two minutes. All aspects of the short are animated, but significant characteristics make it known that one Superman is Christopher Reeves and another Henry Cavill. With that the transition from Superman to Superman through the years flows well, bursting through the comics into a new era.

  • Happy October, Amazing Pumpkin Art (22 Photos)

Carving the pumpkins normally is boring. We’ve seen it all. Time to think of something new, so the gang from Passion for Pumpkins uses ballpoint pens, oil-based markers and paring knives to create these incredible works of art. The artists have to first shave the pumpkins with a paring knife to remove some of the skin. Next, they cut out the bottom and clean the insides, leaving the skin at “a quarter of an inch thick”, which allows the light to “illuminate the image on the outside”. Creating everything from Ghostbusters to Terminator to more Halloween themed pieces like Nightmare Before Christmas, the artists leave all options open for their masterpieces, check out more works via Trig Photography.
