The Star Studded Duck Tales Reboot Will Keep You Inside All Summer

You know you’re already singing it. “Duck Tales, badoo ooo..” It will be stuck in your head all day. No avoiding it. Now that you’ve accepted the fact, Disney XD has green lit not only the initial reboot season, but a second as well. The star studded reboot of our beloved franchise is set for a summer premier starring Dr. Who’s David Tennant voicing Scrooge McDuck, along with SNL star (alum?) Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Danny Pudi as Huey, Kate Micucci as Webby, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack.

Slated for a summer 2017 premiere, the first season will also consist of twenty-one half-hour episodes and two hourlong specials, with Matt Youngberg serving as executive producer beside story editor/co-producer Francisco Angones, and Gravity Falls art director Sean Jimenez.

The original Emmy-winning DuckTales ran from 1987-1990 as part of The Disney Afternoon daily cartoon block, which went on to spawn Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Talespin and 1990 theatrical movie, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. Disney Television Animation will produce the new version, which also features Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell and Poe, and Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys.
