John Daly has been a favorite of ours here at RSVLTS HQ for years, not only because of his incredible drives but also for his incredible taste in pants. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a damn fine singer, which he proved yet again when he joined Gavin DeGraw onstage to belt out Tom Petty’s 1989 hit, “I Won’t Back Down.”

In addition to paying tribute to Petty, who passed away October 2, the song also sums up Daly’s persistence on the golf course — a persistence that paid off as Daly recently qualified for his first PGA Tour since 2015.
Of course, it’s not the first time we’ve heard the golden pipes of golf’s bad boy; he has been known to perform Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” any chance he gets and has even released two albums with original songs, such as “Hit it Hard.”
