On February 4, New England fans will cheer on the Patriots at Super Bowl LII while the rest of the world prays for an Eagles win. Well, that’s not fair; Cowboys fans will half-heartedly cheer on the Pats just because they hate the Eagles that much. But as much as we hate to say it, it seems like just about everyone is predicting a Patriots win at Sunday’s big game in Minnesota. Everyone except Tecmo Super Bowl.
Released for the NES way back in 1991, Tecmo Super Bowl was an immediate hit. Complete with all 28 NFL teams and their 1990 rosters — including a famously unstoppable Bo Jackson — Tecmo Super Bowl was the only football game that mattered on the original 8-bit Nintendo. Hell, we here at RSVLTS HQ love the game so much, we were inspired to create the Bo Knows Tecmo Winter Beanie. And now, more than 25 years after its initial release, we still look to the game for its completely unrealistic yet captivatingly incredible simulations, including this Super Bowl LII prediction:
So there you have it, folks. While supposed football experts predict a win for the Patriots on Sunday, the true geniuses at Tecmo Super Bowl know that it will be a low-scoring yet exciting game that will ultimately find the Eagles triumphant, with a 16-10 win. Time to call my bookie!
